dyed yarn, and passing on the craft, catching up and showing off.

So I have been off work for the last 5 weeks. The first 2-3 weeks I was recovering, weeks 3-4 was spent reveling in my family, yard, friends, and summer in general. The last week and a half I have felt completely back to normal, doc has cleared me, and I have been playing with dyes.  I will show those off now. 🙂

my first attempt at dyeing yarn.

my first attempt at dyeing yarn.

I tried a rainbow dye, just playing to see what I can do on yarn. I def need some practice on skeining, technique, best brands etc.  So I didn’t have enough rainbow for a full cloth I filled in with some solid green I had laying around.

This was dyed to fulfill a special disney wish. I will update when I have finished transforming it.

I’m really nervous on this one, A Disney wish is a lot of responsibility, it’s the big time for a small toy maker.

So completely changing gears, here is the passing on my craft portion of this post. Ally has been expressing interest in swirling. I am always in the middle of a custom order when she wants to help, so I made time this week to just let her do her thing. The result was wonderful, and she had a blast. When my batts charge I will update with pictures of

Ally thrilled she gets to do the whole thing herself.
